Meet Chaya

Chaya Silver has worked as a Jewish educator for more than 30 years. Over the years, she has worked with Conservative, Reconstructionist, and Reform congregations. Chaya began her work as a Jewish educator at B’Nai Emunah Congregation in Tulsa, OK. From there she went to Knoxville, TN where she was the Education Director at Congregation Heska Amuna. When life handed her the chance to move to the Washington, DC area, she became Education Director at Adat Shalom Congregation in Bethesda, MD, and then continued her journey by taking a position at Agudas Achim Congregation in Alexandria, VA. As a proud savtah (grandmother), Chaya chose to move to Denver in the summer of 2025 where she lives with her son and his family in a loud, joyful, multi-generational house along with her dog, Winnie, and her cat, Mr. Big.

Chaya believes in the power of supplemental Jewish education as a way to bring families together while educating children. Providing meaningful Jewish literacy gives young people tools to engage in the unfolding story of the Jewish people and to participate meaningfully in the secular world guided by Jewish values and wisdom.

Chaya enjoys spending time with her three children, their partners, pets, and children. She also loves to sing, garden, knit, and take advantage of the opportunities to hike and explore the Denver area. She is always open to suggestions for new adventures.
