Beyond our Borders

Social Justice

Temple Micah and its community are built on openness, so it’s only logical that our hands extend beyond our physical borders. Tikkun Olam is our ethical obligation to improve our world. Our members have opportunities to expand social justice and discover a global perspective through volunteerism and travel as part of the Temple Micah experience.

Micah members share a belief that every individual deserves equal rights and opportunities. Below, find current volunteer opportunities as well as a list of other social justice partnerships.

Afghan Family Support

Micah has formed a Cultural Mentoring Team to support an Afghan Family that has recently emigrated to Denver.  The team helps the Karemi family learn how to navigate life in the United States.  The Micah community supports our team and the Karemi family by donating items of need and King Soopers gift cards.

Habitat Interfaith Alliance

As one of 13 congregations involved, Temple Micah is proud to support the efforts of Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver’s Habitat Interfaith Alliance (HIA). HIA is a group of dedicated souls who bring together people of Jewish, Catholic, Protestant and Unitarian Universalist faiths to do God’s work as a team.

Park Hill United Methodist Church

Temple Micah is proud to partner with PHUMC in many social justice efforts. Visit their website to learn how you can get involved.
Both communities have been enriched by this cooperative arrangement. By boldly and respectfully being who they are, the two congregations have shared worship experiences, mission outreach projects, educational opportunities for youth and adults and worked for justice in the world we share together.
